Jennifer Wagar Lifestyle Photography specializes in modern, natural light, family portraiture in Toronto and the GTA. Jennifer’s relaxed approach comes from her years working as a travel photographer and exploring the world, which translates into her ability to capture unique and meaningful images that you won’t find hanging over every family mantel piece.

What inspired you to become a photographer?

For as long as I can remember I loved photography. I drove my parents crazy with the amount of film I would waste on pictures of the dog bowl. However, it was in those early years I learned to experiment with natural light and fell in love with the story that could be told by a simple image from so many perspectives.

How would you characterize your style?

Real. I always encourage my clients to dress as they would with their family on a Sunday afternoon at the park. The more relaxed the family (and especially the kids), the more smiles, laughs and “real images” can happen – the picture perfect moments between the posed smiles.

Who are your clients and what should they expect?

My clients start in the womb (or even preconception if you include weddings!) right up to the very old. I love to photograph people, whether it is a new birth story, a fifth birthday or an eightieth, I get equally excited for every shoot.

Anything else to share?

Some of my favourite shoots involve themes. I am always excited to work with clients that want to try something different. Be it a baking party, food fight with mom and dad or a balloon-filled field on a sunny afternoon, let your imagination run wild!
