Get the Secrets From Your Sister on Bra Fitting

The way a bra fits has an impact on your health, your posture, and your self-image. Motherhood can really take a toll on your bra size — from pregnancy, through nursing and beyond. That’s why it’s so important to make sure you are wearing the correct bra size at all the stages of your life. Your mom knew it, so does Secrets From Your Sister. I recently checked out their Yonge and Eglinton location to experience their bra fitting service.

Bra Fitting Boutique

Secrets From Your Sister is much more than a lingerie store, it’s a bra fitting boutique. The primary focus of the shop is to the get the right bra to fit you, not to make you fit the bra. The shop offers expert bra fittings in a relaxed shopping environment.

You can make an appointment for a fitting in advance or sign in at the desk when you arrive. Either way, give yourself 45 minutes to an hour for a fitting. Your fitter will take some time with you to determine your correct bra size, find out what styles best suit you, and help you select bras that you’ll love.

These ladies know their stuff. They’ll offer tips on adjusting the band and straps, and styles that will suit your body type. Interestingly, Secrets From Your Sister recommends you invest in three well-fitting bras that you can wear on rotation throughout the week, which should help preserve your bras and your pocketbook.

With over 100 bra sizes, the shop prides itself on offering a great selection of bras in sizes that reflect women’s reality. If they don’t have your exact size in the style you want, they can draw from the stock at their Bloor Street location.

Maternity and Nursing Bras

There is no time of more change in a woman’s life than during pregnancy. Owner Jennifer Klein encourages women to come in four weeks before their due date to be fitted for the first nursing bra. They’ll show you cost-effective options that will take you through various size changes. Four to six weeks after delivery, you should return for another nursing bra that will fit your current needs. And once you’ve settled into a routine, they can get you into one or two more nursing bras so you can have a few bras on rotation — one to wear, one to wash, and one waiting.

And when the nursing is all done, be sure to get fitted once again so you can get yourself into some beautiful well-fitting bras you’ll enjoy for some time.
