Residents in St. Clair West Village shouted a collective cheer in September of 2011 when Brunchworks opened their doors. With a lack of family-friendly food and delicious brunch spots on St. Clair West, this spacious, comfortable restaurant has been packed ever since.
With such a large space, families, couples and friends can spread out and not feel like they’re all eating on top of each other. Choose from comfy, black leather chairs or long dark wood tables, and the warmth and welcoming atmosphere of Brunchworks will make you feel right at home.
A family-run business, Brunchworks was created out of love by owners Minh and Timothy May. After meeting in highschool, and inseparable ever since, they now have a two-year-old daughter. Having run other businesses together and wanting time with their young daughter, they knew that Brunchworks would be a success. And together they have created a loving and kid-friendly environment so families around St. Clair have a place to eat great food and spend time with their children.
Brunch and More
Their menu is diverse and tasty, pleasing the health-conscious, carnivores and vegetarians alike. A varied brunch menu includes the standard eggs and trimmings, French toast, pancakes and fantastic omelettes. Hubby had the Flora: two poached eggs, baby spinach and tomatoes on an English muffin dripping with hollandaise sauce. I opted for the Bay Street, stuffed with thick pieces of ham, asparagus and perfectly melted cheese. The kids had the chocolate chip pancakes and mango smoothies, and they both stayed seated for more than a few minutes to devour it all.
Brunchworks also offers salads, sandwiches, pizza, poutine and scrumptious desserts from Dufflet and La Rocca. They have a stack of board games to keep the kids entertained and tons of space for them to wander around when they tire of sitting with the parents.
Brunchworks is not only a restaurant, but a community meeting place, as well. On each table, they post the month’s events, including Singles Night Speed Dating, Wings Night and BYOB (Bring Your Own Board Games) Night. They also offer corporate and event catering and a space that can hold up to 50 people for private functions. If you crave some quality food at work, check out Brunchworks at the Office.
As St. Clair West continues to thrive, most people tend to stick to the area east of Alberta. Venture a little farther west and you’ll get a feel for the new St. Clair West Village that Brunchworks has made great.
