Where to eat in Toronto: Friendly Midtown Grill At Imbiss Restaurant

Located in the heart of midtown Toronto at Mount Pleasant and Eglinton, Imbiss Restaurant is a little treasure loved by area residents and hungry high school students alike. Situated on the north side of Eglinton, just East of Mount Pleasant Imbiss’s narrow entrance may feel like a take out only spot but past the front of house kitchen is a seating area for dinning in.

Imbiss has a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu and daily combo specials that make it easy to grab a meal for under $10. Their menu offers a diverse range of Mediterranean and North American favourites such as gyros, falafals, souvlaki and burgers.

Owner Amir is not new to the restaurant business, before he opened Imbiss he owned the popular Beachside Grill (in the Beaches) where he became famous for his burgers. Made from the highest quality beef, Imbiss burgers have also become a favourite and once you try one you may find it hard to order anything else on the menu.

If you want to try Imbiss with the kids it’s best to go after their lunchtime rush hour where there are line ups out the door almost daily. While their eating area is small they are accommodating of parents with small children and strollers so don’t be deterred by their modest size.

For Meat Lovers

You can order a premium burger combo with fries and a drink for $5.99 and add bacon or cheese for an additional $1.50. If you go without your kids you can have it with a beer for only $7.99 but try to save room for desert because you have to try their baklava.

For Vegetarians

If you are vegetarian I highly recommend trying Imbiss’s falafel which you can order on white or whole wheat pitas for less than $5. All of Imbiss’s food is made fresh daily (except for the french fries and onion rings) and even their seasonings and homemade sauces are made from scratch.

If you haven’t tried Imbiss Restaurant, it’s worth the trip to midtown and if you live in the area and haven’t discovered this little gem, don’t delay. Head on over to Imbiss and tell Amir and his friendly staff that Toronto Mom Now sent you.
