What to Do in Toronto With Kids This Week: February 2

It’s a new month, and there’s a lot going on in Toronto! Observe Black History Month with a visit to Kuumba at Harbourfront, celebrate the last of winter with ice slides, dog sleds and festivals and don’t forget Clifford, The Big Red Dog. There’s something for everyone to do with kids this week in Toronto.

Kuumba at Harbourfront Centre

Celebrate Black History month with Kuumba at Harbourfront Centre. This year’s festival features artist showcases, a marketplace, storytelling, fashion shows, dance and music. Fun family activities include the storytelling traditions that celebrate African roots, African Board Gaming and a Drumming Workshop with Alpha Rhythm Roots.

DownsviewPark’s Winterfest

Slide down the ice slide, sculpt some ice, and play with the ice kiddie cubes. Enjoy the snow clowns, magicians and fire buskers along the way. And don’t forget to stop at the Disney on Ice booth, all at Downsview Park!

Clifford the Big Red Dog  at the Living Arts Centre

There’s a lot of Clifford to love, so come join the adventures of Emily Elizabeth, Cleo, T-Bone, and of course Clifford as they celebrate their 50th anniversary this year. Full of songs and dance, your little one will love seeing Clifford in this new musical.

Vaughan Winterfest

It’s a short trip North for a lot of fun. The city of  Vaughan’s 23rd annual Winterfest offers free outdoor entertainment, a midway zone, ice carving, face paintings, pizza making, crafts and so much more. See Max & Ruby’s Musical Playdate, Puss in Boots Meet & Greet as well as Toronto Maple Leaf Jake Gardiner. All activities are free, while food is available at a price.

Dog Sled Races at Kortright Centre for Conservation

Enjoy a day of several dog sled races along with some other great family activities. A fun and adventurous way to enjoy some time outdoors!
