Kid-Friendly Toronto: Celebrate Family Literacy Day

kid-friendly toronto family literacy day toronto public libraryFamily Literacy Day is coming up this month, on January 27, 2014. The initiative was created by Toronto-based ABC Life Literacy Canada in 1999. The non-profit organization inspires Canadians of all ages to increase their literacy skills. Family Literacy Day has been embraced by groups across the country. This year’s theme is “15 Minutes of Fun”, because just 15 minutes of reading each day can make a big difference to a child’s development. One of the organizations celebrating Family Literacy Day is the Toronto Public Library. This month they’re putting on dozens of kid-friendly Toronto events all across the city to help families get reading together.
