What to do in Toronto this weekend
100 in 1 Day Toronto: All across the city this Saturday people will be uniting to work towards making Toronto a better place. Right now there are over 160 interventions scheduled to take place. These interventions are ways for families and individuals raise awareness of social, environmental and economic issues in our city. Check out the 100 in 1 website for a complete listing of interventions. Activities include planting children’s community gardens, join in the fun of creating a balloon forrest at Trinity Bellwoods Park and have fun at the games papalooza.
Annex Festival on Bloor: Toronto is a city of neighbourhoods and in the summer each neighbourhood likes to celebrate their uniqueness. This weekend the Annex neighbourhood is filling Bloor Street, West with live music, children’s activities, great sales, delicous food and much more.
Riverside TO Eats and Beats: If you are looking for a street festival in the east end of the city, make your way to Queen Street, East and Broadview for the Riverside TO Eats and Beats. On Saturday June 7th, wander Queen Street, East and take in all the activity. Jimmy Simpson Park will host a fine arts show and sale. A trip to this festival wouldn’t be complete without enjoying all the great restaurants and cafes that line Queen Street, East.
Luminato: Luminato is the celebrated Toronto festival that brings music, art and theatre to masses. From June 6 thru June 16th visitors will enjoy the beautiful works of musicians, dancers, visual artists, authors, film makers and many more. Head to the Festival Hub for daily free concerts, you are sure to find a concert that you will love.
Mateca Arts Festival: This weekend, come out and enjoy the diversity of our city. The Mateca Arts Festival is a festival of world music and multi-disciplinary arts. Musicians, dancers and artists from around our city and around the world will be performing all weekend long at University of Toronto’s Victoria College. Families will enjoy the ongoing arts and craft workshops and dance performers.
