Family Day is less than a month away. While February 17, 2014 may feel like a long time, it will be here before you know it. If you’re wondering what to do in Toronto with your family, consider heading to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto. Your kids will have fun, exploring their creativity and learning through hands-on activities. In the process, they’ll think critically about how structures are built, and learn to work as part of a team. Plus, you’ll be inside where it’s cozy and warm.
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre’s workshops correspond with Ontario school curriculum. This means that the material your kids experience at LEGOLAND helps to reinforce what they’re already learning in the classroom, but in a fun and unique way. What’s not to love? If you’d like to add them to your list of what to do in Toronto this Family Day, we’ve rounded up a list of the educational activities they’re offering.
What to do in Toronto this Family Day
Tall Towers Junior
This workshop introduces design and technology to pre-K and kindergarten children. Your little ones will learn to follow directions, and recognize patterns and shapes. They’ll also hone their fine motor skills as they build towers out of LEGO blocks.
Kids in grades one through three can explore design and technology in this Family Day workshop. Your children can learn about the engineering and design challenges that come with building really tall towers. They’ll build their own skyscrapers out of LEGO blocks, and then see if they can withstand the shaking of an earthquake table.
Race Car Workshop
Kids in grades four through six can explore science, math and technology in this hands-on workshop. Participants will build and race LEGO cars, collecting data and calculating their car’s performance using math.
