The gourmet doughnut craze has been making its way across the city of Toronto. If you are wondering where to eat in Toronto where you can find pillowy doughnuts on Toronto’s legendary Danforth Avenue, be sure to check out Von Doughnuts.
Where to Eat in Toronto: Von Doughnuts
Located just east of Pape Avenue on Danforth, Von Doughnuts is the perfect place to stop after popping into the Pape library branch. We happened to stop in on International Doughnut Day…of course. We picked up a variety of Von Doughnuts’ treats and even one of their signature Von kebabs. I have to say, the Von kebab was my favourite; fluffy giant doughnut holes, dusted with cinnamon and sugar…so good.
As for the doughnuts we selected. We picked up the peanut butter and jam, creme brulee, caramel salt n’ pepa, and dill dough. Yes, the dill dough is a dill-cake doughnut, topped with a dill glaze and a deep fried dill pickle…perfect for the dill pickle lover in any household.
It was clear that the doughnuts were fresh baked and made from scratch. The filling inside the creme brulee was perfection. Von Doughnuts makes all their glazes, jams, custards and filling from scratch as well. The freshness makes all the difference when it comes to gourmet doughnuts. Don’t forget to grab a cup of freshly brewed coffee or a warm cup of Lily Lemon organic tea. Check out Von Doughnuts’ website for a daily listing of doughnuts that will be available in the shop. If you are looking for a larger order, contact the folks at Von Doughnuts and they would be happy to cater your next event.
