Where to Shop in Toronto: Ella Minnow Children’s Bookstore

There is something special about a neighbourhood bookstore. When shoppers walk along Queen Street, East and step inside Ella Minnow they are greeted with a friendly “Hello” and “How can I help you.” Recently, I was out shopping for few books for my one year old niece…I have not had a one year old in the house for a while…so I took the shopkeepers lead. The knowledgeable shopkeeper guided me to three delightful board books…perfect for little hands and lap time reading sessions.

Beyond books for babies, Ella Minnow is also stocked with eco-friendly toys for little ones too. Like the new line of Franck and and Fisher 100% organic cotton baby toys. Throughout the store there are toys and crafts for children of all ages. Older children will enjoy the wide selection of quality craft and activity kits. It truly is a one stop shop for birthday gifts.

A trip to Ella Minnow would not be complete without a trip to say “hello” to Marshmallow, the store’s resident rabbit. The shop is truly charming.

I share everything that lands on my kitchen counter over on my blog, Kitchen Counter Chronicles. Swing by and learn how we are greening their lives; what we are crafting; what we are cooking and what we are reading. While you will often find the girls and I inside the kitchen, you will also find us out and about getting our hands dirty, exploring and learning outdoors.
